SANDRA MCLEAN

Sandra McLean is a clay artist and educator. She has shown her work in the USA, Europe and Asia. She taught university Art courses in the USA for many years and upper school Art internationally. She is primarily a hand builder and explores the liminal space between functional pottery and sculpture. She derives inspiration from ancient forms encountered while traveling and from the depths of her imagination. She thinks of her style as whimsical and she often incorporates anthropomorphic forms into her work. As a teacher, she encourages students to constantly try out new techniques in order to upskill their work.
